Back to Clay - and Back to You
Posted by Maria Sharipo on
Back to Clay — and Back to You This year has been one of the most precious and transformative of my life. Our third baby arrived, and with him came that familiar, all-consuming newborn season — tender, intense, beautiful and fleeting. And while I soaked in every moment, I quietly missed something. I missed clay. I missed the rhythm of the wheel. The grounding weight of porcelain paperclay in my hands. The quiet focus. The shared laughter in the studio. The small, steady magic of making. Now, I’m so happy to say — we are back. Thursday Evenings & Friday Mornings Return Our regular...

Porcelain paperclay has a wonderful resemblance to the air-dry clays I used many years ago for my art dolls, but it’s far superior. The porcelain finish is smooth, white, and delicately translucent, making it perfect for the dreamy characters I love...

A year ago, I made the exciting decision to join the Southern Ceramics Group, eager to connect with like-minded ceramicists and learn from their wealth of knowledge. Alongside this, I was thrilled to take on the role of Demonstrations Organiser. This position has been a wonderful opportunity to work closely with talented ceramic artists, organizing demonstrations and gaining insights into the techniques and creative processes of others in the field. One of the highlights of the year was participating in the annual SCG Exhibition at Bishop's Kitchen in Chichester Cathedral. It was a privilege to work alongside a fantastic team...
