Handbuilt Milk Jug Pottery Workshop

Saturday 29th August | 10:00–13:00

Create your own beautiful handbuilt ceramic milk jug — a practical piece with plenty of character, designed to be used and enjoyed for years to come.

In this relaxed three-hour workshop, you'll be guided through the process of handbuilding a functional jug from stoneware clay. You’ll learn how to construct and shape the body, form a pouring spout and create and attach a handle, before adding your own decorative details to make the piece completely individual.

Whether you prefer simple contemporary forms, botanical textures, playful patterns or something more rustic and organic, there will be plenty of opportunity to develop your own design.

This workshop is perfect for complete beginners as well as those with some pottery experience. We’ll work at an unhurried pace, with plenty of individual guidance throughout.

After the workshop, your milk jug will be professionally dried, glazed and kiln-fired in my studio. It will be ready to collect approximately 4–6 weeks later and will be fully food-safe and suitable for everyday use.
